The winner of the World Boxing Championship under the age of 19, which took place from October 26 to November 2 in the American state of Colorado, was welcomed by fans at Astana airport, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
The World Boxing organization, established in 2023, held the U-19 World Championship this year in the United States, bringing together 178 boxers from 30 countries.
4 Kazakhstani boxers took part in the competition, who won 2 silver medals. Among them is Astana resident Daniyal Rayymbekov, who competed in the 85 kg weight category. He lost in the final match to the representative of Wales, Daniel Pete.
"This is my second tournament at the international level. I went to Serbia before that. Qualifying camps for the U-19 World Cup were held, as a result of which we were lucky enough to go to the USA. I can't express my emotions. It was a great lesson psychologically, in terms of experience. Now I am working on mistakes and practicing preparation for the national championship in Aktau," Daniyal Rayymbekov said.
It should be noted that the Boxing Federation of Kazakhstan has officially become a full member of World Boxing.
Now the Boxing Federation of Kazakhstan intends to hold the 2027 World Boxing Championship as a qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
