KAZAKHSTAN TOOK PART IN THE XXXVII MEETING OF THE COUNCIL FOR COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF HEALTHCARE

The Kazakh delegation took part in the XXXVII meeting of the Council for Cooperation in the field of healthcare of the CIS countries in St. Petersburg.
The forum's agenda included the most important topics related to joining forces to combat global challenges and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in the field of health, access to medicines, the fight against cancer and the spread of tuberculosis.
Minister of Health Akmaral Alnazarova spoke about the results achieved in terms of increasing the availability of medical care and the development of high-tech medical services, projects in the field of digitalization, the system of compulsory medical insurance, and the introduction of modern standards of medical care.
The main initiative of Kazakhstan at the Council meeting was the proposal to declare 2025 the Year of Primary Health Care in the CIS countries. This proposal was supported by all members of the CIS Council.
Following the meeting, decisions were made aimed at further developing cooperation and implementing joint projects, which will improve the quality and accessibility of medical care in the CIS.
At the same time, as part of the XXXVII meeting of the Council for Cooperation in the field of Healthcare of the CIS, the delegation of Kazakhstan, headed by the Minister, visited the production site of the pharmaceutical company Geropharm.
Here, Kazakhstani specialists got acquainted with the work of the national company for the production of biotechnological drugs, which is one of the TOP 20 leading Russian pharmaceutical manufacturers of genetically engineered full-cycle insulin.
It is worth noting that the Council for Cooperation in the field of Health was founded on June 26, 1992 on the basis of an Agreement on cooperation in the field of public health. It consists of 7 CIS countries: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
