The Government discussed the modernization of five major transport and logistics hubs
At a Government meeting, Vice Minister of Transport Maksat Kaliakparov reported on measures to modernize transport infrastructure, develop international corridors and simplify customs procedures.
He said that as part of the development of the Caspian hub, work is underway to modernize the seaports of Aktau and Kuryk.
A project for the construction of a container hub has been launched in the port of Aktau. The completion of the work is scheduled for the end of next year. Its implementation will increase the port's capacity to 250 thousand. DFE per year. As for the Kuryk port, a new grain terminal with a capacity of 1 million tons per year has been launched this year.
Work has begun on the implementation of the cargo and passenger airport project at the Khorgos hub by the Kazakh-German joint venture SKYHANSA LLP. It is planned to create an aviation cargo hub, including a cargo terminal with a storage facility, a fuel storage facility, an aviation technical center for aircraft maintenance and a cargo airline on the territory of the Khorgos FEZ. To increase the capacity, it is planned to modernize the Altynkol station.
Similar work is also planned to be carried out in the Industrial Trade and Logistics Complex, which is located on the border with Kyrgyzstan. While the Eurasia Cross-Border Trade Center and the Central Asia International Center for Industrial Cooperation are expected to repair the Yuzhnoye- Fedorovka highways (144 km) and build the Darbaz- Maktaaral railway line (152 km), which will increase capacity.
