On December 10-11, 2024, the 5th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was held in Amman, Jordan, under the co-chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Baibazarov N.S.
The meeting was attended by a delegation of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the leadership of Vice Minister of Energy Zhamauov A.Zh.
The parties discussed a wide range of areas of bilateral cooperation, including the energy sector, and expressed their intention to strengthen cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources.
The parties welcomed the plans to sign the following memoranda of understanding:
between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Jordanian Atomic Energy Commission on cooperation in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy;
between Kazatomprom JSC and Jordan Uranium Mining Company Jordan Uranium Mining Company (JUMCO).
In addition, an agreement was reached on the exchange of information and experience in the field of hydrogen energy and energy transition.
This meeting confirmed the desire of both countries to deepen bilateral cooperation in key sectors, which will contribute to the implementation of joint projects in the field of sustainable energy.
