Today, Minister of Ecology of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Nysanbayev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan Bakhtiyor Ibragimov.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the participation of the two countries in the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-29) in Baku, which will begin its work next week.
"We attach great importance to the issues of attracting young people to environmental projects, and we continue to provide them with comprehensive support.
In this regard, I would like to express my support for holding a side event "Youth at the head of action on climate change" and an eco-camp on the sidelines of COP-29," the minister said in his welcoming speech.
Taking this opportunity, the Minister invited representatives of the Uzbek side to participate in six thematic events dedicated to the role of youth in environmental initiatives, which will be held at the Pavilion of Kazakhstan in Baku on November 18 this year.
"I am sure that our cooperation and your support will help achieve all the goals set," he added.
In addition, it was said that the signing of the "International Strategy for Promoting a Culture of Sustainable Development and involving children and Youth in the Climate Agenda for 2024-2030" is expected on the sidelines of COP-29.
At the end of the event, the parties thanked each other and expressed confidence in our further fruitful cooperation in all areas of bilateral cooperation.
