On November 6, the duration of lessons in the capital's schools was reduced due to a sharp increase in wind, the official website of the Mayor's Office of Astana reports.
"On November 6, due to the deterioration of weather conditions (an increase in wind speed to 30 m/s), lessons will be reduced to 30 minutes from the second lesson of the second shift. Classroom teachers need to notify parents that students will be released only accompanied by adults," the Astana Education Department reported.
Due to the strengthening of the wind, the capital's rescuers urged citizens to observe safety measures.
According to Kazhydromet RSE, strong winds are expected in Astana on November 6-7. Forecasters predict a southwesterly wind with gusts of 23-28 m/s, sometimes up to 30 m/s.
