Operators of large oil and gas projects have signed 10 contracts worth 17 million US dollars with domestic producers

On December 12, 2024, in Atyrau, as part of the work of the Ministry of Energy, an IMB Center seminar on localization of oil and gas engineering products for Group B (pipe products, pumps and seals, HVAC systems and process filters) was held at the large Tengiz, Kashagan and Karachaganak projects.
The event was attended by about 35 domestic producers and suppliers of works (services), representatives of JSC NC KazMunaiGas and public associations.
During his speech, Vice Minister K. Arymbek noted the work carried out jointly with Operators of large oil and gas projects (NCOC, KPO, TCO) on a regular basis to increase the domestic value and support domestic producers in the purchase of goods, works and services used for subsurface use.
One of the results of the ongoing work is the revision of the Program for the Development of local content of NCOC, KPO and TCO, which provides tools and mechanisms aimed at stimulating and supporting the Kazakhstani supplier of works and services. The adoption of updated programs is expected in the near future.
Currently, at the final stage, the issues of acceptance by Operators of changes to Tender procedures, with a focus on fixing specific indicators and simplifying access for domestic producers of oil and gas equipment.
At the end of the seminar, 10 contracts were solemnly signed between NCOC, KPO and TCO and domestic manufacturers of goods, suppliers of works (services) in the amount of more than 17 million US dollars.
The work of the Ministry of Energy in this direction will continue.
Also, today in Atyrau, Vice Minister K. Arymbek held a meeting to discuss the work done by the subsoil users of the Atyrau region within the framework of concluded exploration contracts for subsoil use in the field of hydrocarbons, as well as upcoming plans for next year.
The Vice Minister heard information from the first heads of companies in the field of hydrocarbons on compliance with the terms of subsurface use contracts and execution of design decisions.
Subsurface users have been informed about the amendments introduced in 2024 to the legislation on subsurface resources aimed at significantly optimizing procedures.
Oil and gas companies provide information on drilling exploration wells, compiling operational oil and gas reserves, putting fields into trial operation, accepting previously drilled wells on the balance sheet, etc.
The Ministry of Energy recommended to continue active exploration and evaluation work for a timely transition to the next stages of exploration and production.
