Moscow, December 11, 2024 – The Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) hosted a regular meeting of the Working Group on Afghanistan under the CSTO Foreign Ministry, chaired by Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Talgat Kaliev.
The participants of the meeting exchanged views on the military and political situation in Afghanistan, noted the continuing threats from terrorist groups emanating from its territory.
The meeting was attended by Acting Deputy Secretary General of the CSTO Samat Ordabayev, as well as representatives of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Coordination Service of the Council of Commanders of the CIS Border Troops, the CIS Anti-Terrorist Center.
In conclusion, T. Kaliyev summed up the results of the meeting of the working group and wished success to the Kyrgyz Republic during the presidency in 2025.
