Today, on the eve of the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Health held a solemn awarding ceremony for the winners of the first republican competition "Best in the profession" among medical and pharmaceutical workers.
The competition is organized with the aim of increasing the prestige of medical professions, motivating specialists and demonstrating the best practices in the field of healthcare.

"President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has consistently emphasized the importance of the status of a doctor in our society. The state understands and appreciates your work. This year, an important law was signed aimed at improving the status, legal and financial protection of medical workers," Health Minister Akmaral Alnazarova stressed.

"For the first time this year, on the initiative of the Head of State, our three doctors were awarded the honorary title "Kazakstan enbek sinirgen darigeri" for outstanding services in saving people's lives and the development of domestic medicine. Today, for the first time, we also honor the winners of the republican contest "The Best in the profession", our most worthy doctors, scientists, pharmacists, nurses, managers and all those who made a significant contribution to the development of the industry, showed the highest professional qualities, nobility and dedication," the head of the department noted.

The annual Best in Profession competition is not only an opportunity to highlight the best of the best, but also an inspiration for all medical professionals to grow professionally. The winners of 16 nominations will receive not only well-deserved recognition, but also a monetary reward in the amount of 500 MCI.

"We declare 2025 the year of professional development. This is an important step aimed at ensuring that our doctors, teachers and young professionals receive additional knowledge and competencies, experience and support. I urge each of you to become mentors for young colleagues, passing on your invaluable experience and helping them grow professionally," the minister addressed the winners of the competition.
Medical workers of various profiles and services were awarded in 16 nominations: "The best hospital doctor", "The best emergency doctor", "The best primary care doctor", "The best rural doctor", "The best social worker in healthcare", "The best obstetrician", "The best hospital nurse", "The best primary health care nurse", "The best rural nurse", "The best paramedic", "The best teacher of a medical university", "The best teacher of a medical college", "The best scientist in healthcare", "The best health care manager", "The best specialist in sanitary and epidemiological expertise", "The best pharmacist."

In April 2024, the Head of State signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Amendments and Additions to certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on health issues", which provides for a number of measures of social support for medical workers.

According to the adopted law, doctors in acute shortage specialties who come to work in rural areas for a period of at least 5 years receive a one-time payment in the amount of 100 minimum wage or 8.5 million tenge.

In addition, on behalf of the Head of State, from January 1, 2024, as part of social support for health workers, for the purchase or construction of housing, the amount of the budget loan for specialists who arrived in rural settlements has been increased in an amount not exceeding 2,500 MCI or 9.2 million tenge.

For children of medical workers, local executive bodies provide for the provision of places on a priority basis in pre-school organizations.
Admission to universities out of competition for children of medical workers who have died or who have been diagnosed with disability as a result of performing official duties.

For the first time in the history of Independent Kazakhstan, this year the Head of State awarded the honorary title "Kazakstannyn enbek sinirgen darigeri" (Honored Doctor of the Republic of Kazakhstan) with a one-time incentive payment in the amount of 1000 times the MCI.
