The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, organized a seminar on the implementation of the Joint Credit Mechanism (JCM) in Kazakhstan.
This workshop was held for government officials, local private companies and Japanese branches in Kazakhstan to explore the challenges and needs of climate change mitigation measures in Kazakhstan.
On behalf of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Director of the Department of Climate Policy Saule Sabieva made a welcoming speech and presentation on the "Strategy for achieving carbon neutrality by 2060 and expectations from JCM".
The seminar also considered the main aspects of the JCM mechanism, the JCM support programs provided by the Government of Japan, and organized substantive discussions on cooperation between Kazakhstan and Japan in the field of decarbonization under the JCM scheme.
Following the results of the seminar, it is expected that the selection of projects will be carried out within the framework of the Joint JCM Committee
