The future of engineering: The first year of the implementation of the "Lu Ban Workshop" at VKTU
The first year of the implementation of the unique international project "Lu Ban Workshop" at the VKTU has ended. D. Serikbayev, which was launched in partnership with the Tianjin Professional Institute (PRC).
In such a short period, the project has managed to achieve impressive results, becoming one of the key springboards for the development of engineering and technical education in the country.
The implementation of the Lu Ban Workshop project began in 2023 as part of strategic cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in the field of education and technology – it meant the creation of a platform for training highly qualified specialists in the field of engineering, Smart technologies and the transport industry.
As part of the first stage, the modernization of the material and technical base of the university was carried out: modern Chinese equipment was installed, allowing students to work with world-class technologies, the teachers of the EKTU were trained on the basis of the Tianjin Professional Institute.
During the first year of the project, it was possible to double the number of students studying in the fields related to engineering and the transport industry. Another innovative OP has also been added to the university's OP pool, and existing programs have been modernized with an emphasis on advanced technologies and sustainable development.
The successful implementation of the Workshop project helped to attract partners such as large automotive enterprises – Allur, QazTehna and Astana Motors. Cooperation with them opens up new opportunities for students, directly in terms of internship and subsequent employment, as well as potential participation in real production projects.
At a round table dedicated to the first anniversary of the Workshop, on the theme "Lu Ban Workshop: results, tasks, prospects", held at the VKTU, employees talked about plans for the future: first of all, expansion of the OP and deepening cooperation with partners, including international ones. They plan to focus on the development of scientific research at the Workshop, as well as on joint projects with automobile plants and technology companies.
The implementation of the project makes a significant contribution to the development of engineering and technical education and the economic prosperity of the region and the country. The workshop has established itself as an effective platform for training new generation engineers, highly qualified specialists ready for any changes.
