In Astana, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs together with representatives of the Association for Sustainable Development of Territories "Q88" reminded motorists of the need to use child car seats.
In front of educational institutions, law enforcement officers, together with community activists, conducted a preventive action to raise awareness among citizens about the need to comply with the rules when transporting children.
Children continue to be one of the most vulnerable categories of road users. In the first 10 months of this year, 267 children died as a result of road accidents. More than half of them were passengers, and in most cases, adults transported them in violation of safety regulations — without using child restraints such as car seats, boosters, and adapters.
It should be noted that in Kazakhstan, legislation obliges the use of child car seats for transporting children under 12 years of age in cars. This is aimed at improving the safety of children on the road. Restraints significantly reduce the risk of injury and death in the event of an accident.
The police also explained the rules of the road to the students. The UID squad actively helped them in this.
