In 2025, Investment Agreements (hereinafter referred to as the "IAs") were concluded for the construction of waste-to-energy (WtE) plants in the cities of Astana, Almaty, and Shymkent. Today, industry is one of the main driving forces behind Astana's economy. In the first half of this year, the city produced industrial output worth KZT 2.256 trillion, while the Industrial Production Index reached 111.9%. The manufacturing sector accounted for 94.9% of total industrial output, remaining the key driver of the capital's economic growth.A significant contribution to the city's industrial expansion is made by the Astana – New City and Astana – Technopolis special economic zones. Currently, 145 projects with a total investment value exceeding KZT 369 billion are being implemented within Industrial Park No. 1. Of these, 100 enterprises are already operational, while 45 projects are under development.
