Leading universities of Kazakhstan and the world are strengthening strategic partnerships 02.11.2025
The President attended an international forum of strategic partners in the field of education and science. During the event, representatives of the global higher education space discussed new areas of cooperation with Kazakhstan. Speaking about the impact of artificial intelligence on the labor market, Nunzio Quacquarelli, president and founder of the international rating agency Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), noted the increase in the number of Kazakhstani universities in the QS ranking. According to him, Kazakhstan is making significant progress in internationalization and scientific competitiveness. Five of our universities are also included in the list of the best universities in the world, presented by the Times Higher Education publication. According to Nunzio Quacquarelli, QS intends to cooperate with Kazakhstan in creating a model for predicting future professions and developing an economy based on knowledge and innovation. Professor Wendy Larner, President of Cardiff University (UK), has highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership with Kazakhstan in the field of education and artificial intelligence. She said that Cardiff University is a member of the prestigious Russell Group and is the first university to open a campus in Kazakhstan. The new Cardiff University Kazakhstan campus will become a center for training specialists in the fields of artificial intelligence, biotechnology and medicine. Professor Peng Duan, President of Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU), emphasized the role of education in strengthening mutual trust between peoples. He emphasized the importance of opening the BLCU branch, the first Chinese language teaching center in Central Asia, on the basis of Astana International University. According to the professor, language and culture are the main keys to diplomacy of mutual understanding and trust between countries.

The International Forum of Strategic Partners in Education and Science was held with the participation of the Head of State. As part of the event, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, made a report on specific measures aimed at deeply transforming the national and global education ecosystem. According to the minister, a network of 40 branches of foreign universities is being created in Kazakhstan. 85 percent of them are focused on high-tech areas - artificial intelligence, computer engineering, cybersecurity, natural and technical sciences, nuclear physics and other popular areas. This initiative will allow to obtain high-quality education of international level in the country, attract investment and develop academic tourism. Today, 31,500 foreign students are studying in our country. This is a historical record. For the first time, the number of students from Asian countries has exceeded that from the CIS countries. It is planned to increase the number of foreign students to 100 thousand by 2029. During the forum, it was noted that a Council of Strategic Partners was established. The Council is aimed at ensuring institutional interaction and jointly addressing key challenges. To date, three meetings of the Council have been held.

The International Forum of Strategic Partners "Kazakhstan - Academic Education Zone" was held in Astana with the participation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The forum was aimed at strengthening global cooperation in the field of education and science and identifying new directions for the development of the higher education system. Law and Order: Police in Shymkent presented a cartoon about the law for children 01.11.2025
The first part of the animated film "BalaZan - from childhood to the law", shot at the initiative of the Police Department and with the support of the city administration, was presented to the public in the Central Park of Shymkent. The premiere was shown in the open air, on a large LED screen, and more than 500 children attended the event. The project is aimed at forming the legal culture of the younger generation, preventing juvenile delinquency, and promoting the ideology of "Law and Order." The cartoon aims to convey to children the importance of law, justice, and public order in an interesting and understandable way. The main character of the animated film is Barys, a character who represents the independence and strength of Kazakhstan. He teaches children the importance of such qualities as honesty, respect, and following the rules. As part of the premiere, various interactive and educational events were organized for children. Participants took part in a quiz on traffic rules, got acquainted with the work of dog handlers and forensic scientists, as well as the work of special forces. In addition, a photo exhibition dedicated to police work was presented. The festive atmosphere was enlivened by stage performances by puppet theater artists, Shymkent circus performers, and young traffic inspectors. At the end of the event, a concert program was organized for children and parents, and participants released colorful balloons into the sky - a symbol of goodwill and peace. Kazakhstan and Oman expand cooperation in the transport sector 01.11.2025
Muscat, October 31, 2025 - In preparation of the first meeting of the Kazakh-Omani Intergovernmental Commission, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Sultanate of Oman, Aidarbek Tumatov held a meeting with the Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology of Oman, Saeed bin Hamoud bin Saeed Al Maawali.During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for enhancing cooperation in the transport sector. Boxing Federations of Kazakhstan and Pakistan Signed a Memorandum of Cooperation 31.10.2025

The ban on the export of scrap and waste of ferrous and non-ferrous metals has been extended 31.10.2025
The Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan has extended the ban on the export of scrap and waste of ferrous and non-ferrous metals from the country.The relevant order was signed on October 23, 2025 and entered into force on October 30, 2025. According to the document, the ban is set for a period of 6 months and applies to all types of transport.The restrictions include:- waste and scrap of copper, aluminum, lead, waste and scrap of lead batteries, spent lead batteries, other, containing lead, cadmium or mercury, sorted by chemical type and not containing lead, cadmium or mercury, unsorted and not containing lead, cadmium or mercury;- waste and scrap of ferrous metals, ferrous metal ingots for remelting (charge ingots), used pipes, rails, railway track elements and rolling stock.
