This year, the water release gates of the hydraulic structures - shandors - were replaced here.Askhat Shakharov inspected the dam's readiness for spring floods and assessed the measures being taken to prevent the risk of flooding.The dam was built in 1959, the water storage capacity is 27 million cubic meters. The hydraulic structure is on the balance sheet of the Uly Borsyk KMC, which provides water and heating systems in the Shalkar district. The condition of the dam is satisfactory.A contract for 2 million tenge was signed for technical maintenance of the dam in 2024, and the sluice gates were repaired. Work was carried out to strengthen the channels, clean the water collection, evaporation and filtration areas. After the act was drawn up, 17 shandors were replaced.The regional akim, who saw the condition of the dam, emphasized the importance of preparing for spring floods and ordered the construction of two hydro stations near the dam that would monitor the water level and the condition of the hydraulic structure around the clock.
