The national competition "Sanaly Orta", organized by the Ozgerteam Public Foundation, was held in Astana. The purpose of the event was to promote debate technologies and support the development of school debate clubs in Kazakhstan.
The debate club "Kel, balalar, okylyk!" of the gymnasium named after Y.Altynsarina No. 37, representing the Abai region, showed the best result and took the first place. The winners received a cash prize of 1 million tenge and the title of the best debate club in the country. The head of the club is Binur Akhatkyzy, the chairman is Yerkezhan Turlybek.
The club's initiative, the Sapa project (Sanaly Azamattar pikirtalas ortalygy), aimed at activating the debate movement and overcoming inequality between urban and rural schools, was presented at the competition. The relevance and innovative ideas of the project were highly appreciated by the jury.
