The Ministry of Culture and Information continues to summarize the results of 2024. We present to you the key points in the field of state youth policy.
The number of young people in Kazakhstan is almost one third of the total population of the country – 5,759,781 people.
As part of the implementation of the youth policy, the necessary conditions are being created to support and develop young people, assistance is provided in their employment and housing, grant projects are being implemented, competitions are being held to identify and promote talents in various fields, and youth leadership is being encouraged.
The main guideline in working with Kazakhstani youth in 2024 was the concept of "Adal Azamat", which was set by the Head of State at the third meeting of the National Kurultai. This is the promotion of the values of honesty, fairness and hard work.
Thus, youth organizations and youth resource centers took an active part in the republican campaign "Taza Kazakhstan". Within the framework of the Zhasyl El project, almost 35 thousand young people across the country are engaged in seasonal employment.
Special attention is paid to working with NEET youth, who number over 160,000 people. These are young Kazakhstanis without education and without work. This year, in order to support NEET youth initiatives, the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan allocated 280 grants within the framework of the Zhas project.
The Jol Tap program has been implemented in Astana since 2023 to facilitate employment, and the Jumys Tap program has been implemented in Almaty and in Aktobe and Karaganda regions since 2024. Since the beginning of the year, more than 500 job fairs have been held across the country.
At the beginning of 2024, the composition of the "Council on Youth Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan" was updated. This year, the Jas Kenes Syilygy Award for young professionals was initiated and presented for the first time by the Council members.
Also, for the first time this year, the International Youth Day in Kazakhstan was celebrated with the national decade "Zhastarmen birge!", which lasted from August 3 to 12. In 10 days, more than 5,000 events were held, reaching over 1 million people.
An award ceremony was held for the brightest and most talented youth of Kazakhstan, the winners of the Daryn State Prize. They were 20 young Kazakhstanis who distinguished themselves in creativity, science, sports, media, and information technology.
30 winners of the Tauelsizdik Urpaktary grant, whose projects were recognized as the best, received state support. These are initiatives in the fields of culture, science, media, information technology, and business. This year we also added a new direction – "Volunteering".
A roadmap has been developed to strengthen cooperation with republican youth organizations for 2024-2026.
Along with this, conditions are being created for the international experience and interaction of Kazakhstani youth. So, on August 5, the ZAKOVAT intellectual game between the teams of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan was held in Astana. On April 18, Astana hosted the Kazakh-Kyrgyz Youth Forum with the participation of creative youth and leaders of youth organizations.
