The Karaganda Children's Library named after Abai is holding the last high-profile readings this year on December 20. New Year's tales in verse have been prepared for elementary school students.
Saltanat Kayyrbek, a poet and member of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan, will read his works in Kazakh. Primary school teacher Galiya Lorenz will read a work by Dutch writer Ted van Lieshout in Russian. The short story "Farmer Willie and the first snow" tells about the simple joys of childhood.
To create a festive atmosphere, the library has a New Year's installation created by Valery Rogolev, a resident of Karaganda.
