On Thursday, December 18, representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan met in Tashkent.
Following the meeting, the parties signed a Plan for cooperation in the information sphere for 2025.
The document was signed by the parties within the framework of the instructions given following the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan on August 8, during which a joint statement and a decision on bilateral cooperation in the field of mass communications were adopted between Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The plan includes organizing the exchange of media content, conducting trainings and seminars for the media, improving the skills of press secretaries, supporting young journalists and jointly combating disinformation.
The ICI of Kazakhstan stressed the importance of integrating joint media projects and the need to develop mechanisms to counter disinformation and fake news.
The parties agreed to organize press tours for media representatives in order to exchange experiences between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
In addition, during the meeting, Robert Muradian, Managing Director of the Television and Radio complex of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, spoke about the plans and prospects of the Kazakh Silk Way TV channel to strengthen cooperation and exchange content with Central Asian countries.
Following the discussion, the parties expressed their willingness to exchange content.
It should be noted that from December 17 to December 19, the Kazakh delegation also participates in the VI meeting of ministers and senior officials responsible for the media and information of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States.
