At the initiative of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, akimats and representatives of the public, from December 14, 2024 to January 1, 2025, an operational and preventive event "Pyrotechnics" was launched in Kazakhstan, aimed at ensuring safety when using pyrotechnic products during the New Year holidays.
The purpose of the campaign is to prevent violations of the rules for the use of pyrotechnics, raise public awareness of possible risks and ensure safety at venues for mass events such as New Year's celebrations and fireworks. As part of the event, a comprehensive plan was approved, prepared jointly with the heads of the Fire Service and Administrative Police Committees.
"In the first days of the preventive measure, 590 joint raids were conducted, during which citizens were instructed on safety measures when using pyrotechnic devices. Special attention is also paid to the safe use of illuminations, electric garlands and ornaments. We remind the owners of facilities where mass events are planned to be prohibited from using pyrotechnic devices in the premises," said Yerlan Turegeldiev, Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
To increase the safety of citizens, 1,100 preventive measures were carried out at the venues of festive events, including places for fireworks. As part of the safety training, 1,256 evacuation training sessions were organized with the participation of employees of organizations, teachers, students and children.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds of strict observance of safety measures when using pyrotechnic products.
Pyrotechnics can be launched at a distance of 50 meters from buildings and parking lots. Their independent use by minors is prohibited. It is strictly forbidden to use fireworks indoors. It is also dangerous to launch fireworks from your hands, balconies and loggias.
At the same time, we draw attention to the fact that pyrotechnic products must be purchased in specialized pavilions, making sure that the appropriate certificate is available. First of all, you need to check the integrity of the packaging and the expiration date.
It is also important to remember that pyrotechnic devices can be dangerous if used improperly, especially near residential buildings and in open spaces.
