Vice Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Yerbolat Ibraikhanov and Deputy Akim of the Turkestan region Nurbol Turashbekov held a meeting with the heads of agricultural enterprises of the region in Zhetysai.
During the meeting, Kazbek Bedebayev, Director of the Turkestan branch of Kazvodkhoz, made a report on the work done in the region and future plans. This year, the supply of irrigation water for the needs of agricultural producers was organized in full accordance with the requests. The irrigation season was stable, the branch provided water to 274 thousand hectares of cultivated area of the region.
In 2024, the branch carried out mechanized cleaning of 278 channels with a length of 640 km. As a result, the capacity of the channels has increased for the needs of agricultural producers.
"Irrigation channels are consistently undergoing repairs. In addition, agricultural producers are provided with subsidies for the introduction of water-saving technologies. Subsidies and a separate tariff are provided for farms that have switched to water-saving technologies. This is very beneficial for farmers," said Yerbolat Ibraikhanov.
The farmers, in turn, asked their questions and received clarifications on the changes regarding the supply of irrigation water.
After the meeting, the Vice Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation and the deputy akim of the region held a personal reception for citizens, listened to their appeals and suggestions. The responsible specialists were given specific instructions to address the issues raised within the framework of the legislation.
