Today, the head of the region, Serik Shapkenov, met with residents of the Makati district. At the meeting, socio-economic indicators and the direction of further development of the district were discussed, the press service of the akim of the region reports.
Serik Shapkenov made a presentation on the work done at Makat.The problem of emergency houses is urgent in the area. To solve it, 28 semi-detached houses (56 apartments) were purchased. Residents were relocated to 14 houses (28 apartments) in December, and 20 more families will have housewarming parties in February next year.
The head of the region also spoke about the ongoing work in the field of education.
- Two modern BINOM schools have opened in the regional center, and construction of two more has begun. These works will be carried out in stages. There are plans to build such modern educational institutions in Kulsary and Makat. All conditions must be created for children to receive a high-quality education. These schools are equipped with modern technologies and have all the necessary equipment. In addition, a positive expert opinion was received for the construction of an extension for 250 places to primary school No. 2 in the village of Makat with the sponsorship of NCOC. Construction is expected to begin next year," Shapkenov said.
A question often raised by Makati residents is the construction of bus stops. It is planned to build 54 stops next year.
Due to changes in the design and estimate documentation for the overhaul of the railway platform in the village of Dossor, construction work was postponed to next year. Serik Shapkenov instructed the district governor to keep this issue under strict control.
Residents of Makat raised other issues such as employment, housing and clean drinking water.
The head of the region said that the issues raised at the meeting would be resolved in stages and within the framework of the law. Later, he received citizens on personal matters and answered their questions together with competent specialists.

Next, he got acquainted with the condition of the building of the district defense department, which needs major repairs. The facility, built in 1974, has not been repaired before, and the roof leaks during precipitation. The heating boiler is also outdated. Serik Shapkenov noted that the facility needs to be overhauled or a new standard building built.
During the trip, the head of the region visited the empty old akimat building, which is also in need of renovation. The local authorities plan to turn it into a social services center. As of today, a positive conclusion of the state expertise has been received. The head of the region instructed to speed up the competitive procedures.
