The Ministry of Emergency Situations summed up the interim results of the Republican propaganda and preventive campaign "Muz-2024", which began a month ago, on November 16.
When the ice in the north of Kazakhstan is already reaching a safe thickness, the period of freezing has just begun in the south.
In a number of regions, such as Atyrau, Kyzylorda, Zhambyl and Aktobe regions, the ice cover of the waters is deceptive. The ice has not fully hardened yet.
As part of the campaign, the rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as part of mobile groups, carried out 7,268 raids and patrols in the country's reservoirs.
During the raids, the Rules of safe stay on ice and ice fishing are explained, a total of 52,284 people have been instructed. More than half of them are fishing enthusiasts and hunters. For greater coverage of the population in the maximum risk zone, 760 retail outlets of fishing gear and other hunting accessories have been covered, and campaign materials have been distributed in each store.
During the campaign period alone, the deaths of 9 adults and 2 children were prevented during the raid, assistance was provided to people stuck in a snowdrift in a car, and 2 fishermen who got lost in the fog were found and evacuated 10 km from the shore of the Shardara reservoir.
It is worth noting that such cases are caused by people themselves as a result of violations of basic safety rules. Violators are brought to administrative responsibility. During the campaign period alone, 156 protocols were drawn up, and fines totaling more than 4 million tenge were imposed. In this situation, a fine is a tool to prevent death.
The republican campaign "Muz-2024" will be held until the end of the winter period and thin ice in 2025! The main task of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is to prevent deaths and promptly respond to winter emergencies (including thin ice). on bodies of water (ice)!
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds that the safe thickness of ice for one person is at least 10 centimeters, while at night, with poor visibility and during ice formation and melting, access to the ice is strictly prohibited! Ice fishing with an ice thickness of 10 to 25 cm is allowed strictly in the presence of a life jacket!
It is not allowed to stay on the ice.:
1) go out on thin and fragile areas of ice;
2) gather in groups on separate (dangerous) areas of ice;
3) approach gullies, cracks, holes in the ice;
4) to drive vehicles on the ice outside the boundaries of the places designated for crossings;
5) making a fire;
6) punch two holes at a distance of less than 20 centimeters, and pairs of holes at a distance of less than 2 meters from the other pair of holes;
7) leave gear and debris on the ice.
