The Zhetisu region is an agricultural region, therefore, special attention is paid primarily to the development of this sphere and the processing industry. By the way, 35 billion tenge has been allocated for the development of the agro–industrial complex of the region this year, of which 23.3 billion tenge or 66.6% are subsidies. This became known today during a briefing at the Central Communications Service under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the participation of Akim of the Zhetisu region Beibit Isabayev, the press service of Akim of the Zhetisu region reports.
The acreage of crops in the Zhetisu region amounted to 510 thousand hectares. 872 thousand tons of grain, 195 thousand tons of oilseeds, 266 thousand tons of vegetable crops, 132 thousand tons of potatoes were produced.
- As you know, special attention is paid to the development of the sugar industry in our region. The Aksu sugar factory has been completely renovated and put into operation. 8 new service and procurement centers have been created in 5 districts of the region, 62 units of equipment worth 2.5 billion tenge, necessary for the production of sugar beet, have been purchased for 30 farms. This year, the sown area of sugar beet in the region increased by 1.7 times and reached 13.7 thousand hectares. A record harvest of sugar beet with a volume of 635 thousand tons was harvested. As a result, it is planned to produce 94 thousand tons of sugar at two sugar factories, including 64 thousand tons of sugar beet and 30 thousand tons of sugar cane," Governor of the region Zhetisu B. Issabayev said.
