The event dedicated to the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the publication was organized at the Takhaoui Akhtanov Regional Drama Theater. Akim of the region Askhat Shakharov congratulated veteran journalists, staff and readers of the newspaper on the anniversary.
First, the head of the region, along with the guests of honor who came specifically to celebrate the centenary, laid flowers at the monument to the classics of Kazakh literature Takhaui Akhtanov and Kuandyk Shangytbayev.
After that, the akim of the region delivered a congratulatory speech on the stage of the theater. He noted the important role of the Aktobe newspaper in the regional press, its significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the region and expressed confidence that the publication would continue to be a source of high-quality materials and positive news.
"Aktobe newspaper has always actively participated in events related to the present and future of the country. It fulfilled its role as an effective instrument of ideology. The publication, recognized as a mirror of the socio-political, economic, cultural and social life of the region, boldly writes about urgent problems awaiting solution in the region and contributes to their timely resolution.
Over the years, the newspaper has also played the role of a link between the people and the government. Special attention is paid to the letters of readers, which are published on the pages of the newspaper. A century is a long time. During these hundred years, the direction and goals of Aktobe have not changed. I am sure that in the future the newspaper's correspondents will continue to please us with positive news and informative articles," the mayor said.
At the ceremony, Askhat Shakharov awarded a number of employees of the Aktobe newspaper with letters of thanks. And journalists Miramgul Rakhatkyzy, Arailym Nurbayeva and Aybek Taskaliev were awarded the title of "Akparat salasyn uzdigi".
During the event, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Socio-Cultural Development and Science Nurtore Zhusip read out a congratulatory letter from Chairman of the Senate Maulen Ashimbayev.
After the official part, the pop artists delighted the guests of the festival with a concert program. At the end of the event, the staff of the jubilee newspaper, together with the artists of the regional Philharmonic, performed the newspaper's anthem based on the words of Satzhan Daribay, the music of Oral Baisengir and the arrangement of Bakytbek Zeynelov.
The newspaper, which began its journey under the name "Kedey" on June 7, 1924, has been published under various names over the years, meeting the needs of its time and serving the interests of readers. On June 7 of this year, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a congratulatory letter to the staff of the regional newspaper.
