The Akimat of Astana is systematically working on the construction of infrastructure facilities. These facilities make it possible to provide the city with uninterrupted heat supply, water supply, sanitation, etc. Zhenis Kassymbek told about which life support facilities will be built in the capital.
"For the last two years, Astana has been undergoing a heating season with a surplus of heat for the first time. Due to the commissioning of two new Turan and Yugo-Vostok gas thermal power plants in 2023, the thermal capacity of the first stage of CHPP-3 increased by 30%. This allows us to fully cover the needs of the city. For example, today, at an average air temperature of 10-15 degrees, the surplus of heat generation is 1200 Gcal/hour.
In addition, the construction of the Telman gas thermal power plant continues, and next year we will begin construction of the Yugo-Zapad gas transmission system, which will provide the city with sufficient heat until 2035," the mayor of Astana said.
Also, in 2023, the Mayor's Office of Astana completed the construction and commissioned the third pumping and filtration station (NSF-3). It allowed to provide the city with more than 100 thousand cubic meters of water per day, and the construction of the 2nd line of the water pipeline from the Astana reservoir was also completed.
Next year, it is planned to start construction of a water pipeline from the Nurinsky groundwater deposit, as well as the expansion of the Telman pumping station. As part of long-term measures, a new water pipeline from the IM canal is being designed. Satpayev. The implementation of these projects will ensure a stable water supply to the city until 2035.
To solve the problem of wastewater disposal, construction of KOS-2 with a capacity of 188 thousand m3/day is planned to begin in 2025. In addition, in parallel, in order to ensure reliable sanitation, projects are being developed for three local wastewater treatment plants in two residential areas and in the Industrial Park area with a total additional capacity of about 85 thousand m3/day.
