The capital's hospital, better known in the city as "Zheleznodorozhnaya", is undergoing major repairs. Repair work is underway in the surgical block of the Multidisciplinary City Hospital No. 3 on Zhenis Avenue 58, the official website of the Astana Akimat reports.
As of today, the repair of the roof, facade, engineering networks, replacement of windows and doors, installation of ventilation has been completed. The plans include the replacement of elevators and finishing work. The repair of the surgical unit is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2025.
Next, in 2025, major repairs will be carried out to the therapeutic and auxiliary buildings – the garage, the food hall and the laundry room.
It should be noted that the facility itself was commissioned in 1959, and major repairs have not been carried out in any of the buildings since its construction. Three buildings of the hospital will be demolished, as they are listed as emergency facilities. The two buildings will be renovated and equipped with all necessary medical equipment by the end of 2025.
"Thanks to the support of the akimat, we are finally repairing individual buildings of our oldest hospital. In the coming years, construction of a modern multidisciplinary hospital with 300 beds will begin, which will serve the population of the right bank. An area of 7.61 hectares has already been allocated for this purpose. The construction is planned at the expense of Samruk-Kazyna JSC," Aliya Rustemova, head of the capital's Public Health Department, shared her immediate plans.
It is worth noting that Multidisciplinary City Hospital No. 3 is one of the oldest medical institutions in the city, which serves the population of Saryarka, Baikonur and Nura districts. On average, the number of visits to the emergency department reaches 350 per day, and to the emergency room – up to 100 per day.
