Large-scale digitalization and modernization of communications continues in Akmola region

To date, there are 605 settlements in the Akmola region, of which 333 are already connected to fiber-optic communication lines. As part of the state program "Affordable Internet", it is planned to connect another 243 rural settlements by 2027.
The fifth generation network is actively developing in the regional center, the city of Kokshetau. Currently, 11 5G base stations have been installed, and by 2027 their number will increase to 56.
Three antenna-mast structures will be erected on the republican roads of Akkol, Zhaksyn and Yerementau districts, which will improve the quality of communication for drivers and passengers.
As part of the instructions of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the development of the Shchuchinsk-Borovskaya resort area, the installation of six antenna-mast structures has been completed, including territories near key tourist sites such as the Abylai Khan clearing.
Additionally, fiber-optic GPON communication lines are being built to improve infrastructure in the Burabaysky district and the village of Savinka.
GPON technology is also being actively implemented in other districts of the region, such as Zhaksynsky, Yerementau, Akkolsky, Atbasarsky, as well as in the city of Stepnogorsk. The equipment for connecting 49 residential buildings has been installed.
It is planned to launch a pilot project for the installation of a dual-use MagicPole support in the village of Zastantsion in Kokshetau. This approach, which is popular abroad, will be applied in Kazakhstan for the first time.
On behalf of the akim of the region, 264 Starlink satellite communication terminals have been installed to provide high-speed Internet access in remote rural schools.
As part of the security modernization program, 1,000 video surveillance cameras have been updated at 50 educational facilities.
As part of the annual Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the SmartGeoHub project was launched, which allows residents of the region to monitor the state of the road infrastructure through a geographic information portal.
A memorandum of cooperation with the police Department was also signed, within the framework of which 25 Sergek hardware and software complexes were installed. By 2025, their number will increase to 98.
To improve the convenience of interaction with natural monopoly enterprises, 48 digital services have been introduced through the regional geographic information system. For example, residents of Kokshetau can now remotely receive the services of Kokshetau Su Arnasy and Kokshetau Zhylu.
Large-scale digitalization and modernization of the communications infrastructure provide access to high-quality Internet services and security for all residents of the Akmola region, including remote settlements and tourist areas.
