Physical culture and sports are actively developing in the region. According to statistics, 43% of the region's population is systematically involved in sports. During the year, more than 3,000 mass sporting events were held, attracting more than 200,000 participants.
The total number of sports facilities in the region has reached 1,704. In 2024, 13 sports complexes, 16 sports grounds, 1 swimming pool and 30 gyms were put into operation.
Special attention is paid to the development of children's sports. There are 37 children's and youth sports schools in the region, of which 5 have been opened this year. This ensures access to sports for children and youth in the region.
Athletes of the region perform well on international and national arenas. In 2024, representatives of the region won 211 medals at international tournaments, world championships, Asian and Kazakh Cups. Among the achievements are 107 gold, 49 silver and 55 bronze medals.
Non-Olympic sports, national sports, and sports for people with disabilities are actively supported. The regional budget continues to finance programs to expand sports opportunities.
