On November 8, a meeting on the topic "Taza Kazakhstan: ecology of Kazakhstan" was held in the Mangystau region, organized by the Department of Internal Policy of the Mangystau region together with the National Research University "Eco Mangystau", the public foundation "Green Schooltaza.LIKEE" and students of the department. The venue was the University named after Sh.Yesenov. The discussion was attended by representatives of the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management of the Mangystau region, the Department of Ecology of the Ministry of Defense, as well as the Department of Energy and Housing of the Ministry of Defense.
The purpose of the event was to increase environmental culture and public awareness of the importance of environmental protection, to form a responsible attitude to natural resources and to develop cooperation between government agencies and public organizations in environmental matters. The lecturers presented reports, discussed the current environmental challenges of the region, and also stressed the importance of such meetings for the formation of an environmentally sustainable society. During the event, the speakers focused on the role of everyone in the environmental agenda of the region.
According to Kirill Osin, director of the Eco Mangystau National Research University, the Taza Kazakhstan program is not just a government initiative, but also part of the common responsibility of all residents for the future. He noted that solving waste problems and other environmental issues requires the participation of everyone — from the state and business to ordinary citizens. Osin stressed that the Taza Kazakhstan program should become not only a guideline, but also a motivator for improving the quality of life and the urban environment.
Irina Tatieva, Director of the TAZA.LIKEE Green School Foundation, added that through their educational initiatives, there is a positive dynamic in people's minds. Tatieva noted that the green school is actively engaged in environmental education, organizing actions and programs to form an informed society, and expressed confidence that the number of responsible citizens continues to grow. According to her, this has a positive effect on the ecology of the region, and she called on government agencies and businesses to join their efforts.
Students' questions and active discussion became an important part of the meeting. The participants had the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers and discuss pressing environmental topics, which contributed to a lively exchange of views and increased interest in the environmental agenda.
Also, as part of the campaign "Taza Kazakhstan" in the Tutkabai Ashimbayev Lyceum No. 11 in Aktau, an open lesson on the topic "Adamkyzmetinin korshagan ortaga aseri" was held. The main purpose of the lesson was the development of students' conscious attitude to the environment and understanding of the impact of human activity on nature.
As noted by biology teacher, teacher-expert Balzhan Manayeva, "We must instill respect for the environment in children from an early age and form a positive attitude towards ecology in them. This is the basis for the education of future generations who will take care of nature and make responsible decisions."
Teacher-moderator, biology teacher Eldos Orazalin added: "Environmental awareness should become an integral part of every child's worldview. The sooner we start instilling these values, the more resilient and healthier our planet will be in the future."
It is worth noting that Lyceum No. 11 named after Tutkabai Ashimbayev in the 2024-2025 academic year became the winner of the city competition, taking 1st place, and was also awarded a diploma of the 1st degree, a cup and a cash prize at the regional competition on the topic "Tabigatpen undes bilim uymy". This award was awarded to the lyceum thanks to the support of the Mangystau Region Education Department and the Aktau City Education Department for their contribution to the development of environmental education.
