The year 2024 was a special one for the republican state enterprise GIPROZEM. The company, which has become a key player in the management of land resources in Kazakhstan, was established a year ago.
During this period, a soil survey was conducted on an area of 6 million hectares with the creation of electronic soil maps, a geobotanical survey on an area of 7 million hectares with the creation of electronic geobotanical maps, land monitoring on an area of 8 million hectares, and soil bonus was determined on an area of 4 million hectares.
These data became the basis for the preparation of recommendations on the rational use of land. Agricultural producers are offered measures to increase soil fertility, prevent erosion, choose optimal crops, as well as recommendations on the application of fertilizers.
In 2025, RSE GIPROZEM plans to increase the scale of its work. In particular, a soil survey will be conducted on 6.65 million hectares, and a geobotanical survey on 7.5 million hectares. The soil bonus will be determined on 5 million hectares, monitoring will cover 10 million hectares of land. Electronic maps of land degradation will be created on 53.5 million hectares of land.
This year, RSE GIPROZEM has actively participated in a number of international projects. In particular, work continues on the preparation of a Regional Land Survey for Central Asia within the framework of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification.
Within the framework of COP29, a side event on the topic of carbon farming was organized in Baku, and the company's activities were presented.
