In Almaty, lights were lit on 80 New Year trees at the same time, which marked the symbolic start of the festive season.
The ceremonial lighting of the main New Year tree of the city, which is 25 meters high, took place on Abai Square in Almaty. This year, the Christmas tree of the metropolis is not a frame tree, but a trunk tree - for the first time it is made in the classical style. Six kilometers of garlands, bright balls and Christmas tree toys were used to decorate it.
The weather created a special fabulous atmosphere of the ceremony, as if by order: the New Year's beauty shone under the spotlight, surrounded by a charming snowfall, and fluffy flakes gently covered the main Christmas tree of the metropolis.
More than 8 thousand Almaty residents and guests of the metropolis gathered for a solemn event, where they witnessed a grandiose show with the participation of Kazakh pop stars.
"I came to congratulate and support the young artists. A very beautiful Christmas tree and well organized. The performances were great, and the weather was snowy, as it should be for such a holiday," said Sergey Dmitrievich, a resident of the metropolis.
The concert program was opened by the BS band brass band, presenting a medley of New Year's tunes. The festive atmosphere was enhanced by the appearance of Rosa Rymbaeva on the stage. The People's Artist of the country performed the songs "It's Snowing" and "Zhuldyzdy zhana zhyl", which filled the evening with warmth and positive emotions.
Nazim Abildina, Madi Rymbaev, Dinaya and Balzhan Bidash also create a festive mood for residents and guests of the city today. It is worth noting that young people are looking forward to the performances of ALPHA, Dakelot, ASTRA, Malik YES and Adil.
"I really love the New Year. It's such a blessing to have such events. I am very grateful to our akimat for hosting such a celebration. The snowy evening added to the atmosphere, it turned out very fabulously," said a resident of Almaty.
The bright final chord of the concert will be the performance of Turar. His song "Zhana Zhyl" will complete the first big concert of New Year's events in the city, leaving the audience with pleasant impressions and anticipation of the holiday.
The truly fabulous atmosphere today is created by the elements of decoration in the form of Cinderella's carriage, Gingerbread Man, reindeer and other characters, as well as bright photo zones and sparkling light installations.
It should be noted that in all districts of the city, the lighting of Christmas trees was accompanied by events with concerts and activities to give a holiday to residents and guests of the metropolis.
