More than 400 natural landfills have been eliminated in Astana since the beginning of the year

A systematic fight against spontaneous unauthorized landfills continues in the capital. Since the beginning of 2024, 415 unauthorized landfill sites have been identified from the districts of the capital. 200,000 tons of garbage were taken from them to landfills, the official website of the Astana Akimat reports.
Monitoring for unauthorized landfills is carried out daily in all areas of the city. All violators are brought to administrative responsibility.
For example, in the districts of Almaty and Saraishyk, all identified 115 sites were eliminated and about 58.5 thousand tons of garbage were removed (about 8 thousand flights).
In the Baikonur area, 67 sites were eliminated, from which 10 thousand tons of garbage were removed.
55 points were eliminated in the Yesil district, over 35 thousand tons of garbage were sent to the landfill.
43 points of spontaneous landfills have been worked out in the Saryarka district, from which about 37 thousand tons of garbage have been removed. The work continues.
40 thousand tons of garbage were removed from the eliminated 135 points from the Nur area.
Through iKomek, the facts of removal from construction sites and unloading of garbage in the wrong places are being established, and raid measures are being carried out jointly with law enforcement agencies.
Since the beginning of the year, about 400 truck drivers have been brought to administrative responsibility for unauthorized unloading of garbage, and they have been fined over 8 million tenge.
For violation of landscaping, over 20 thousand offenders were fined more than 58 million tenge. About 15,000 offenders were punished and fined 273 million tenge for polluting public areas under Article 434-2 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Work to eliminate illegal landfills continues. In particular, measures are being taken to prevent the emergence of new foci.

As part of the eco-campaign, the city is undergoing sanitary cleaning of the city, storm and sewer networks, streets, sidewalks, inner-city areas, public spaces and courtyards.
