On the eve of the New Year, the long-awaited blue fuel arrived in the villages of Shymkent and Abai in the Eskeldinsky district, the press service of the akim of the Zhetisu region reports.
- As of today, 14 settlements of the Eskeldinsky district have been gasified. 39,000 people or 10,354 subscribers have access to gas. Work is underway to lay gas networks in the villages of Kokzhazyk, Terekti, Karatal, Zhastar, Aktasty. Work on gasification of Kaynarly and Zhalgyzagash villages is planned next year," said Azamat Beisbayev, deputy head of the regional Department of Energy and Housing and Communal Services.
Residents attending the gas launch event also shared their impressions.
- I've been living here since I was born, and it's been almost 50 years now. Today there is a big event in our village – the launch of natural gas. We are very glad that the gas has come to us. Life will become more comfortable! - noted Lyudmila Yasinskaya, a resident of Abai village.
The 82-year-old resident of S. is no less pleased.Shymkent Asylbake Ayazbayeva:
- I lived up to the time when gas came to my house. It took a lot of effort to heat the stove and warm the house. Carry coal, firewood, and ashes. It's not easy, especially at my age. I am sincerely glad for all my fellow countrymen," the villager shared, thanking the representatives of the contractor who connected her house to gas for free.
By the way, work on the construction of gas pipelines in the villages of Shymkent and Abai in the Eskeldinsky district began in November last year. The total length is 47 km.
In general, by the end of 2024, the gasification level of the Zhetisu region amounted to 56.5% or 63 settlements.
