New Year's events organized on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan were held in all regions of Kazakhstan today.
In Kokshetau, the main Christmas tree of the region was lit at the Bolashaq sarayi Palace of Childhood and Youth. About 200 children from the cities and districts of the region were invited to the celebration.
The acting akim of the region, Eldos Ramazanov, congratulated the children on the upcoming New Year. He stressed the importance of supporting the younger generation and expressed hope for the successful development of each of the children.
"As the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted, the younger generation will play a crucial role in the development of Kazakhstan and will become the driving force of progress. We adults will create all the conditions to achieve your goals," said Eldos Ramazanov.
12-year-old Arkat Sharapov from the village of Zhana Kiima, Zhaksyn district, is an excellent student, winner of many Olympiads and competitions. It was the first time a student took part in a New Year's event of this level.
"We're having a very interesting time. I managed to make friends with the guys who came from different parts of our region. My mother prepared the batyr's costume for me. I really like. The Christmas tree is very important to me, it will always remain in my memory. Thank you so much for giving us such joy," said the young participant.
The program included a Christmas tree lighting ceremony, a round dance and performances by fairy-tale characters such as Er Tostik, Kok bori. The children took part in costume contests and recited poetry.
At the end of the celebration, all participants received cash certificates in the amount of 120 thousand tenge and sweet sets on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
