Large-sized coniferous trees have been planted in Almaty as part of the greening and environmental improvement program. Instead of 22 emergency trees, 36 Tien Shan fir trees with a height of more than 6 meters were planted on Satpayev Street.
Seedlings from local nurseries correspond to the climatic conditions of the city, are highly resistant to diseases and are able to quickly adapt to an aggressive urban environment.
Replacing old trees has become a necessary measure. It should be recalled that during an off-site meeting with the participation of researchers, experts, public figures and media representatives, the condition of trees along Satpayev Street was assessed. Old-age spruce trees grew on the site, which, according to the results of research, were recognized as emergency and posed a threat to the safety of citizens and the environment.
The use of large-sized seedlings with a height of 4 to 6 meters makes it possible to improve the survival of trees, create a mature landscape and preserve the aesthetic appearance of city streets and parks. According to the recommendations of scientists, the planting of conifers in winter was carried out with a closed clod of earth.
