During his working trip to Almaty, the Minister of Education visited a number of educational organizations, where he held meetings with teachers, schoolchildren, parent committees and veterans of education.
At the special boarding school No. 4 for visually impaired children, the minister attended a lesson by Gulzhanar Nurpeisova, who was recently awarded the highest state award "Kazakhstan Enbek Yeri" for many years of work and contribution to the development of education, awarded to her by the President. The teacher shared that she came to work with children with special educational needs consciously, feeling the importance of her pedagogical mission.

Gani Beisembayev noted that such teachers are the real pride of the country, their dedication and professionalism serve as an example for everyone.

"Equal access to quality education is a priority of state policy. In this regard, work will continue to improve legislation to ensure access and improve the quality of special and inclusive education. Special attention is paid to the support of teachers who have devoted their lives to working with children with special educational needs. Their selfless work and high professionalism deserve the highest praise. Teachers like Gulzhanar Nurpeisova inspire us by showing us what it means to be a real educator and an example for society," the minister said.

There are 236 children with special educational needs enrolled in the boarding school. The educational process is organized taking into account their peculiarities: adapted methodological materials developed by Gulzhanar Nurpeisova are used, as well as textbooks in Braille and large font, which helps to take into account the needs of each student.

In total, about 9 thousand teachers work in 496 special educational institutions of the country. The coverage of children with special education has reached 84%. It is worth noting that starting this year, the quota for admission of children with disabilities to colleges for technical and vocational education has been increased from 1% to 10%, which expands opportunities for their further education.
