Issues of promoting anti-corruption values in the state Labor Inspectorate were discussed at the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs

The First Vice-Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akmadi Sarbasov, held a meeting on the promotion of anti-corruption values among employees of the State Labor Inspection Committee and its territorial departments.
The event was attended by Acting Chairman of the State Labor Inspection Committee (hereinafter – KGIT) Murat Muratbekov, officer for particularly important cases of the Prevention Service of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhazira Zhylkyshieva, Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Uteshev, Ethics Commissioner of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan Urken Alshynbayeva, 215 state labor inspectors from all regions and others.
In his welcoming speech, Akmadi Sarbasov noted that the suppression and prevention of corruption offenses is one of the main areas of work of the Ministry of Labor.
"Within the framework of anti-corruption legislation, the Ministry annually conducts an internal analysis of corruption risks in the activities of structural divisions. This year, an external analysis of corruption risks was conducted jointly with the Anti-Corruption Agency. All employees of the territorial departments of the State Inspection Committee should be clearly aware of the anticorruption restrictions of a civil servant," he stressed.
Murat Muratbekov spoke about the main tasks of the state labor Inspectorate, which are: ensuring state control over compliance with the labor legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, protecting the rights and freedoms of employees, including the right to safe working conditions, consideration of appeals, applications and complaints of employees and employers.
"As of November 1, 2024, 4,552 inspections were carried out (in 2023 – 5,834), 7,146 violations were detected (in 2023 – 8,936), of which 1,769 were related to occupational safety and health.
2723 prescriptions were issued to employers (in 2023 – 3741), 3207 administrative fines were imposed (in 2023 – 2046) in the amount of more than 338.9 million tenge (in 2023 – 339.5 million tenge).
There are no facts of bringing to justice heads of departments and their direct subordinates for committing corruption crimes in 2024," he informed.
The acting Chairman of the KGIT also reported on the work carried out to prevent corruption offenses.
"One of the main tasks of the State Labor Inspectorate Committee for the Eradication of Corruption is the formation of intolerance to corruption, the exclusion of opportunities for corruption, and the improvement of measures to ensure the inevitability of responsibility.
An internal analysis of corruption risks in relation to the activities of the State labor Inspectorate was conducted in 15 regions. According to its results, the causes contributing to the commission of corruption offenses have been identified. Work has been done to prevent them," Muratbekov said.
At the end of the event, Akmadi Sarbasov instructed the leadership of KGIT and its territorial divisions to develop and approve an Action Plan to identify and eliminate the causes and conditions conducive to the commission of corruption offenses for 2025.
