Since the start of the human papillomavirus (HPV) immunization campaign in Kazakhstan, more than 116.5 thousand girls have been vaccinated. No adverse side effects have been recorded among those vaccinated after vaccination.

Highly oncogenic HPV types 16 and 18 mainly cause cervical cancer (CRC).

Prophylactic vaccination against HPV prevents the development of cervical cancer.

HPV is one of the most common viruses in the world. 80% of women under the age of 50 will be infected with HPV during their lives.

About 300 thousand women die from cervical cancer every year in the world. In Kazakhstan, about 2 thousand cases of HPV are detected annually.

National HPV vaccination programs have been introduced in 135 countries on a planned basis.

For example, in Scotland, before the introduction of HPV vaccination, mass screening of 20-year-old girls was carried out, 30% of whom were infected with oncogenic types of human papillomavirus at the age of 16 and 18.

Seven years after the introduction of HPV vaccination, the prevalence of HPV among the next generation of girls decreased to 4.5%.
