Brasília, August 25, 2026 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Brazil Bolat Nussupov met with Ambassador Luiza Lopes da Silva, Deputy Director of the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC).
During the meeting, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan briefed his counterpart on the results of the elections of deputies to the unicameral Kurultai and the formation of the “People’s Council of Kazakhstan”. The sides also discussed arrangements for establishing bilateral cooperation between the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC) and the Kazakh Agency for International Development (KazAID) in the field of official development assistance.
The Kazakh diplomat also presented his Brazilian counterpart with an invitation from KazAID to Ambassador Ruy Carlos Pereira, Director-General of the ABC, to participate in the Third Annual Meeting of Emerging Development Partners (EDP), which will be held on September 10, 2026, in Almaty. The event will be held under the auspices of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, co-chaired by KazAID and supported by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).
For reference: The Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC) was established in 1987. It is a government institution of Brazil under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs responsible for implementing official development assistance (ODA) programs. Its mission is to manage Brazil’s support for national and international cooperation projects implemented in partnership with other Brazilian public- and private-sector organizations, as well as with international organizations and counterpart institutions in other countries.
