Minister of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gani Beisembayev, together with Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Zhaslan Madiyev, visited the Astana Hub Technopark and got acquainted with domestic EdTech startups offering various digital solutions in the field of education.
Earlier, the Ministry of Education, together with ICRIAP, launched a pilot project of an online educational platform that teaches schoolchildren and teachers the basics of programming. Within the framework of this project, 300 teachers and trainers are already improving their skills in the areas of "Artificial Intelligence" and "Game Development".
The Minister got acquainted with the artificial intelligence school "Tomorrow School", based on the principles of mutual learning. Gani Beisembayev suggested considering the possibility of creating a version of the school of artificial intelligence adapted for schoolchildren.
"Modern development processes require innovative approaches to the digital transformation of the educational process. To ensure high-quality and competitive education for the younger generation in the face of new challenges, it is necessary to focus on improving the IT competencies of each teacher, creating a digital educational environment in schools and colleges, as well as providing high-quality educational content. Special attention should be paid to digital security issues," Ghani Beisembayev stressed.
In addition, the Minister was presented with domestic IT services and products aimed at ensuring security in educational institutions, creating a unified educational ecosystem, professional orientation of teenagers and training of Olympiad participants.
It should be noted that within the framework of the instructions of the Head of State, comprehensive work on digitalization of the education system is being actively implemented. The quality of the Internet has been significantly improved in Kazakh schools, all school textbooks have been digitized and are available on 11 platforms. In order to increase the availability of educational resources, the Bilim service was launched in the eGovMobile mobile application, as well as secondary education certificates and diplomas of technical and vocational education are now available in digital format on the e-government portal.
