A regional forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the maslikhats of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in Semey. The event brought together more than 450 participants. Among them are Akim of the region Abai Nurlan Urankhaev, deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Tastekeev and Ainur Argynbekova, chairman of the NGO "Association of Deputies of Maslikhats of Kazakhstan" Toleubek Mukashev, chairman of the Maslikhat Kuanysh Suleimenov, as well as veterans and current deputies of all levels.
The Forum became a significant event that highlighted the role of maslikhats in strengthening democracy and the local government system. In his welcoming speech, Akim of the region Abai Nurlan Urankhayev noted the historical significance of this date.
"This date symbolizes the development of democracy, the strengthening of the link between the government and the people, as well as the improvement of the local government system. Maslikhats have always played a key role in the social, economic and cultural life of the regions. They enable citizens to participate in making decisions that affect their daily lives. A lot has been done in 30 years, but there are still many tasks and opportunities ahead for further growth. I wish you all fruitful activities, new successes and the implementation of projects aimed at the development and prosperity of our region," the mayor said, delivering a congratulatory speech.
The solemn part of the forum included the presentation of Certificates of Honor and letters of thanks from the Senate and Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, ministries, as well as the akim of the region and the chairman of the maslikhat of the Abai region. A special award — the title of "Honorary Deputy" — was awarded to deputies who made a significant contribution to the development of Kazakhstan.
The event was not only an occasion to summarize the results, but also an opportunity to discuss the prospects for further development of maslikhats as a key element of a democratic society.
