From November 18 to December 25, 2024, an international PISA study for schools will be held in 1,000 educational organizations. It is attended by more than 30 thousand Kazakhstani students who have reached the age of 15.
The study is based on the methodology of traditional PISA and evaluates key functional literacy skills such as reading, mathematics and science, providing a comprehensive picture of external assessment at the level of individual educational institutions. It also allows you to identify factors that affect the academic performance of students.
"PISA for Schools is conducted annually and provides individual reports with an analysis of the results at the level of each school. This allows you to identify areas that need improvement. Detailed reports are becoming an important tool for school management in developing strategies and programs aimed at improving the quality of education. The PISA for Schools study contributes to the improvement of the educational process, helping to identify the strengths and weaknesses of educational institutions and take the necessary measures based on the data obtained," said Mayra Meldebekova, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Quality Assurance in Education.
It is worth noting that the PISA for Schools study is conducted by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. In the period from 2021 to 2023, 2,200 educational organizations of the country took part in it.
