An innovative educational laboratory of applied electronics and telecommunications has been opened at the Higher College of Transport and Communications of Astana. Here, students learn how to work with electronic devices and set up communication equipment, including the operation of electric vehicles, mobile networks and the Internet, the official website of the Mayor's Office of the capital reports.
The laboratory is equipped with innovative equipment that is as close as possible to the real production process. It consists of two parts. The first is intended for students studying in the specialty "Radio Electronics and Telecommunications", and the second focuses on the operation of electronic transport equipment, including electric vehicles.
"By studying in this laboratory, students will be able to work with innovative equipment that meets the expectations of employers. The laboratory is equipped with 12 workplaces. When conducting laboratory classes, a group of 25 students is divided into subgroups, which allows for high quality training. There are 13 teachers in our staff, 8 of whom work at the Department of Communications and 5 at the Department of Electronics. We are currently starting negotiations on the launch of short-term courses, which we hope will start in January next year. We are confident that the opening of this laboratory will be an important step towards training highly qualified specialists in our field," said Omirgul Zhunuspekov, Deputy Director for Educational and Industrial Work at the capital's Higher College of Transport and Communications.
Students will actively participate in practical classes that include soldering, assembling simple circuits, testing complex equipment and configuring IP telephony.
"This laboratory is necessary for the training of qualified specialists in the field of transport, including rail, and communications. It covers areas such as radio electronics, electrical engineering, radio communications and the operation of electric vehicles. This comprehensive laboratory is designed for almost half of the specialties of our college," said teacher Larisa Ostashova.
The laboratory is equipped with modern equipment for the installation and research of fiber optic cables, IP telephony, PBX and work with electronic devices.
Each module is designed for 12-15 people, and any laboratory station can be used to perform 20-40 practical tasks. This will make it possible to conduct more than 300 laboratory classes.
The solemn presentation of the laboratory was attended by the leadership of the Department of Education of the city, deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, specialists of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, deputies of the Maslikhat of Astana, members of the Public Council of the capital, social partners of the college - City Transportation Systems LLP, NC KTZ JSC, Kazakhtelecom JSC and representatives of the Industrial and Board of Trustees of the College.
