Astana became the best cycling region of the year

The annual congress of the Kazakhstan Cycling Federation was held in Astana. At this meeting, the organization summed up the results of the year, awarding the best athletes, coaches and determining the strongest region of the country in cycling, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
As a result of mass sports events, as well as achievements at the national and international levels, Astana was awarded the title of "Best Region". The award was received by the head of the department of the capital's Department of Physical Culture and Sports Azamat Agzamov.
"This is a great and significant award for us. We are very pleased that our efforts have been so highly appreciated. This achievement was made possible thanks to the coordinated work of the entire team, the support of colleagues and caring people who share our goals. We are confident that this success will inspire new projects and initiatives aimed at the benefit of society," Azamat Agzamov said.
At the same event, the coach of the specialized children's and youth sports school of the Olympic reserve No. 6 in cycling, Vera Rivet, was awarded the title of "Best Coach", and Murat Kuitenov, a pupil of the same school, became the "Best Athlete of the Year".
In addition, veteran coaches Alexander Kochetkov and Andrey Sklyarov received special awards from the Federation, and Vladislav Gorbunov was awarded a letter of thanks for his contribution to the development of cycling.
It is worth noting that in 2024, the metropolitan cycling school, together with the Department of Physical Culture and Sports and the Federation, organized about 100 mass events. The school's athletes have won more than 300 medals at national and international tournaments.
