Kazakh agricultural universities to strengthen cooperation with Russian universities

During her working trip to Kazakhstan, the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Oksana Lut got acquainted with the development of agricultural science and training for the agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Russian delegation was particularly interested in the activities of the A.I. Barayev Scientific and Production Center for Grain Farming, where the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aidarbek Saparov, familiarized with the history and achievements of the Kazakh grain industry, the results of the breeding work of Kazakhstani scientists.
The Minister stressed the importance and prospects of cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan in the field of seed production and breeding, which is the basis for further sustainable development of agriculture in both countries.
We should add that the A.I. Baraev NPCC is actively developing integration with Russian scientific institutions, including the exchange of experience and genetic resources with the N.I. Vavilov All-Russian Institute of Plant Genetic Resources and the Altai Research Institute of Agriculture. Within the framework of agreements on scientific and technical cooperation with institutes, joint research work is being carried out to create new varieties of agricultural crops.
The members of the Russian delegation visited the Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University named after S. Seifullin, which actively cooperates with 28 scientific and educational institutions of Russia, including universities such as the Siberian State Geodetic Academy and the Ural State Agrarian University. The university students presented their projects.
The guests examined the material and technical base of the university, as well as laboratories.
It should be added that today 64 students from Kazakhstan study in Russian agricultural universities, 44 students from Russia study in Kazakh universities, which indicates an increasing interest in educational cooperation between the two countries in the field of agriculture.
