A preventive inspection was held in Astana, within the framework of which employees of the Emergency Situations Department of Astana and Akmola region, the city akimat, police and volunteers once again explained the rules of fire safety to residents, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
During the event, experts explained fire safety rules to residents and distributed memos, inspected furnace and gas equipment, and installed carbon monoxide sensors in the homes of socially vulnerable segments of the population.
"Since the beginning of the year, 635 fire cases have been registered in the capital. Of these, 255 occurred in private residential sectors. Therefore, the fire safety of private homes is under special control. Employees of the Astana Department of Emergency Situations draw up an annual plan and implement preventive measures. First of all, explanatory work is carried out with socially vulnerable segments of the population, including in dormitories and private residential sectors. With the support of the Mayor's Office of Astana, carbon monoxide sensors were purchased for them, which we install during the rounds. In total, more than 1,500 socially vulnerable families live in Astana. It should be noted that since the beginning of the year they have been fully covered by preventive measures, and today we are conducting repeated explanatory work. Our main task is to ensure the safety of citizens," says Madiyar Murzageldiev, Deputy Head of the Emergency Department of Astana.
As part of ensuring fire safety during the heating period, the participants of the preventive event visited 1,527 private sector houses during the day, where more than 2.5 thousand violations of fire safety rules were revealed.
The bypass also covered 149 families from socially vulnerable segments of the population. 27 carbon monoxide sensors were installed, and 47 families inspected previously installed sensors and replaced batteries.
At the end of the event, rescuers stressed that it is possible to reduce the risk of fires and save people's lives by increasing the level of safety culture among citizens.
