Basketball and table tennis tournaments are being held in Astana as part of the Student Self-Government project, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
The project "Student Self-government" is organized by the IDC "Astana Zhastary" with the support of the Department for Youth Policy of the capital.
It is aimed at supporting student initiatives and creating an active platform for the manifestation of sports, creative and leadership qualities among students of the capital. The organizers cooperate with the universities of the city and send invitation letters to participate in creative and sports events of the project.
Sports tournaments in basketball, table tennis, volleyball and football are held among students.
"I consider this project to be as useful as possible for all students, since there are not enough sports competitions at universities. There are many students who are actively involved in sports, and for us this project is an opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to a healthy lifestyle," said 2nd year student KazATU Imangali Okey.
Thus, two sports tournaments were held among the students – basketball and table tennis. 70 students from Esil University, ENU, KazATU, AITU and other universities of the city took part in them.
It should be noted that the project attaches special importance to the support and creative hobbies of the students of the capital. Competitions will be held for them in four categories: vocal art, folk dancing, modern dancing and playing musical instruments.
"From 50 to 80 people will participate in each nomination. Most of the participants are activists of the youth affairs committees of their universities. By the end of the project, we are going to unite all participants and arrange a grand event," Olzhas Amangeldi, a specialist at the Astana Zhastary Youth Resource Center of the Akimat of the capital, said.
On the final day of the project, a final concert and awarding of participants will be organized.
