A family running event was organized in the Triathlon Park of Astana, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
Despite the fact that the autumn days have not passed yet, snow has already fallen in the capital, and the thermometer has dropped below zero. However, there were no severe frosts on Sunday, and the weather was favorable for the participants. About 100 families took part in the traditional family run. Fathers covered a distance of 2.3 kilometers, mothers – 0.5 kilometers, children – 0.2 kilometers.
"People who run regularly immediately feel the difference in running in summer and winter. In winter, the speed decreases, and you have to move a lot. Moreover, due to the harsh winters of Astana, local residents have adapted to the weather conditions. Especially when a child sees through his parents that he can play sports even in winter, this reduces fears.
The age range of children is 8-13 years old. Why? This is due to the fact that only at the age of 8 a child's physique is formed and he adapts to intense running. The distance is also not very large – only 200 meters. We divided this category into 3 more: 8-9 years old, 10-11 years old, 12-13 years old. Because physically the difference is very pronounced.
Such an event is held annually on a regular basis. Our goal is to encourage every family to lead a healthy lifestyle and exercise. After all, the peculiarity of the family relay race is that families learn to mutually support each other, trust, get along," said Kolbai Zhanbek, head of the planning department of mass sports events at the KSU "Directorate of Mass Sports Events" of the Akimat of Astana city.
The families participating in the competitions determined the winners in each separate category, rather than in the general competition, and depending on the individual result received commemorative medals and awards. Also, 10 bicycles were raffled off among the participants through a lottery. They were given hot tea and sandwiches.
