A solemn ceremony of awarding the finalists of the National award "Teacher of Kazakhstan-2024" was held in Astana. The event was attended by teachers, scientists, experts from all over the world, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
This is the Kazakhstan stage of the international competition "Global Teacher Award", established by the Varkey Foundation. In it, the main prize of one million US dollars will be awarded to the best teachers in the world for their contribution to education.
The ten best teachers of the country have been identified as part of the competition of the National award "Teacher of Kazakhstan-2024". The purpose of this competition is not only to show the importance of the teaching profession, but also the work of the best teachers at the international level.
This year's competition showed a record, more than 2,200 teachers from all over Kazakhstan took part in it, 10 of the best teachers were selected. Among them are two teachers from the capital. These are the mathematics teacher of the Lyceum school No. 71 in Astana, Oktyabrina Junis, and the teacher of the Kazakh language and literature of the Economic Lyceum, Nurzhan Baisakov. Each of the two teachers from the capital, who were among the top ten teachers, was awarded a cash prize in the amount of 1 million tenge.
